Did I Bring Bad Luck?

There is a rumor that says black cat often thought to bring disaster. Neko, is the name of the black cat who is always ostracized by other animals. So that he feels that he is bringing bad luck to other animals, he did not have any friends. Poor Neko.

One day, there is a party held by Cici, an orange bunny. Cici has a lot of friends. She is well-liked by many animals. Cici knew the rumor of Neko brought bad luck. But out of pity, Cici still invite Neko to her party.

Neko was happy. But he felt he should not come to Cici’s party. Because he think he will mess up Cici’s party. On the day the party was held, Neko did not come. Cici was looking for him, hoping she will find him in the crowd. But unfortunately, she didn’t find Neko’s presence.

Cici asks Rery, the crow who is known to be arrogant and haughty. “Hey Rery, have you seen Neko? I invited him, but until now I have not seen him.” Rery laughed haughtily. “Neko? The cat that brings bad luck?” Rery snuffled. “You should be thankful he did not come here, he could have ruined your party.”

Cici didn’t agree when Rery said that. With anger she said, “Hey! Why are you being mean? It’s just a rumor after all. You don’t even have proof that he really brings bad luck.” Rery arrogantly said, “Well, if the rumors say so then that’s the fact.”

Cici who was getting annoyed after hearing that then asked, “Then what do you think makes you believe that Neko brings bad luck? Is it because of his black fur? If that’s the case, then you bring bad luck too. Because your fur is also black.” Cici said breathlessly because she was carried away by anger.

Rery was silent. What cici said was true. Rery has no evidence and instead immediately believes in rumors. Now he felt guilty for Neko. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean it that way.” Cici sighed. “You should apologize to Neko. Let’s go find him.”

After that, the search for Neko began. They searched the place where Neko was often seen alone. Rery shouted as he pointed at the rock where Neko was sleeping, “There he is!” Neko was startled from his sleep. He hid behind a rock without saying anything.

Cici shouted in a soft voice, “Neko, it’s me Cici. Why didn’t you come to my party? I was waiting for you.” Rery also said, “In fact, we have been waiting for you.” Neko raised his head slightly from behind the rock. Rery went on to say, “I’m sorry Neko. I shouldn’t have believed the rumors. Can we be friends? I should know you by yourself, not by what others say.”

Neko’s eyes lit up. He slowly came out of hiding. “Are you sure? But people say I’m the bearer of bad luck.” Neko squeaked softly. Cici laughs, “That’s what people say. Therefore, you must prove the rumors wrong. Let’s all be friends.”

In the end, the three of them formed a friendship. A sincere friendship that proved the rumors of Neko bringing a bad luck were not true. That’s why we shouldn’t immediately believe what people say, because it’s not necessarily until we prove it directly.
